About this Event
Each year around Equal Pay Day, Carolina Women+ in Tech (CWIT) confronts the topic of confidence, career, education, and equality for women+. This year we’re bringing together a panel of some of Charlotte’s most inspirational leaders who are paving the way for women+ in tech. Learn more about the state of equal pay in 2024, education, and build your confidence muscle.

Meet Our SPEAKERS
Michele Coviello
VP of Client Development, Dualboot Partners
Michelle has over 20 years of experience in the IT industry and currently works for Dualboot Partners, a business and software development company. Prior employers include HireNetworks, DCRI, a national staffing and recruiting firm, and the Sapient Corporation. Michelle is also a strong community connector. She is an Advisor for the NC Tech Association and was named their Ambassador of the Year. She is part of the Apparo IT For Non Profits Board of Directors and runs their corporate sponsorship committee. She is a board member of SIM Charlotte and committee chair for their SIM Women group. She graduated from Boston College and enjoys her free time outdoors hiking and travelling with her husband and family.
Chyna Blackmon
Service Journalism Reporter, The Charlotte Observer
Chyna Blackmon is a 26-year-old reporter for The Charlotte Observer and CharlotteFive. A native of the Carolinas, she grew up in Columbia, SC, and studied journalism and digital media at Queens University of Charlotte. She started her career working in local television news at CBS 6 in Richmond and Queen City News. Now, in her role as a service journalism reporter, you can Chyna covering a wide range of Charlotte-focused news, from politics and business to real estate and reality tv shows.
Camelia Taheri

Dr. Camelia Taheri is a bilingual seasoned leader with 20+ years of expertise in business development, program management, global branding, and integrated marketing communications. She has led the strategic development of programs and prestige brands throughout the US and Latin America. Today, she leads the Guild Network, a groundbreaking program to upskill and reskills associates in the technology ecosystem boosting innovation and building a community of SMEs at TIAA. Her professional career has been focused on designing, developing, and executing programs with meaningful impact on students, employees and communities. She is passionate about supporting the empowerment of individuals for professional growth and personal branding strengthening teams and inspiring others.
Lisa Stryker
CEO and Founder, Stryker Coaching & Communications
Lisa Stryker is a certified coach, trainer and speaker with an extensive background in communications, leadership and personal development. Lisa is a life coach for leaders. She helps people stop overthinking and become calm, confident and decisive. And enjoy life outside work too.
Lisa’s mantra is, “Our most important conversations are those we have with ourselves.”

Free parking is available in the parking deck across from the entrance to the AvidXchange Foundry building. Located at 1210 AvidXchange Ln, Charlotte, NC 28206. You will need to enter through the front doors to get a parking pass from the front desk to put in your car windshield. See map image for details.

Do I need a laptop?
We recommend bringing a notebook to take notes in, but you don’t need your laptop for any of our sessions.
Are food/drinks included?
Yes! We will provide light refreshments and drinks.
Can I take public transportation?
Yes! The transportation center is 1 block away which has access to the blue and gold line Light Rail trains as well as local buses.
What do I wear?
The dress code for the event is business casual. Come comfortable but ready to make a great impression!
Where do I sit?
Seating is open! Feel free to network and make friends!
What are your accessibility options?
Our main parking lot includes designated and accessible parking spots and curb ramps, as well as elevators in the building.
Is there a private place for nursing moms?
Yes! AvidXchange has two nursing rooms. An Avid employee or volunteer will be happy to show you where they are located, just ask when you arrive.
I’m virtual! Where and when do I log in?
We will send all virtual attendees a link to join the day before. It will be a Microsoft Teams meeting link, but you do not need to download Teams in order to join.

What happens if I’m running late?
No worries; it happens! Please still join us whenever you are able to arrive. We will have a welcome table at the entrance, and our volunteers will make sure you find us.
