Assistant Director, Liaison to the College of Science and Engineering, UNC Wilmington

Leslie K. Wright is a seasoned career consultant with more than 22 years of experience guiding college students and recent graduates as they take their first steps toward meaningful careers. As Assistant Director of the Career Center and Liaison to the College of Science and Engineering at UNC Wilmington, she leads strategic career initiatives and leverages career technology like Handshake and Resume AI to help students confidently navigate a complicated job market. Leslie is committed to access, equity, and empowering students to recognize and articulate their competencies—work that has earned her recognition from professional organizations such as NCACE and SoACE. A Norfolk, Virginia native, she holds a Master of Science in Education from Old Dominion University and is known for her thoughtful coaching, intentional programming, and commitment to student success.

Sara Manore Phillips, Ph.D.

Business Development Associate, A1 BioChem Labs

Sara Manore Phillips, Ph.D. is an oncology researcher and scientific communicator with over seven years of experience in preclinical drug discovery, cancer biology, and molecular biology. Her research has directly contributed to a Phase 0 clinical trial for breast cancer brain metastases and glioblastoma (NCT03796273), and she has a dozen peer-reviewed publications. Sara excels at translating complex scientific findings into actionable insights and has presented her research at national conferences. She currently supports biotech and pharmaceutical innovation as a Business Development Associate at A1 BioChem Labs while continuing to foster cross-functional collaboration and scientific advancement. Based in Wilmington, North Carolina, Sara is passionate about paving the way for women in STEM and enjoys spending time outdoors with friends and family.

Emily Shull

Senior Solutions Engineer, Ohanafy

Emily Shull is a Senior Solutions Engineer at Ohanafy, where she drives cross-departmental alignment to delight customers and support strategic growth. She holds a Master’s in Computer Science from UNCW (May 2024) and triple majored in Business Information Technology, Finance, and Religion & Culture at Virginia Tech. Her career began at nCino during its IPO journey before joining Ohanafy, where she has held both individual contributor and leadership roles. Emily is passionate about helping people find the roles where they thrive, believing that individual fulfillment fuels collective success.
