Negotiation isn’t just a skill reserved for executives and sales teams; it’s a life-changing tool for clarity, confidence, and professional mobility. Yet many Women+ in tech hesitate to ask for what they truly need and want — whether it’s a better job offer, a raise, healthy boundaries, or growth opportunities. This interactive workshop introduces a practical 3-part framework to approach any negotiation with intention and self-assurance.
Drawing on my experience as a financial coach, tech consultant, non-profit board member, and communications leader, I’ll share how understanding your values can transform what you ask for and how you ask for it. Through polls, partner exercises, and real-world scripts, attendees will learn to overcome their limiting beliefs, communicate with impact, and make confident, aligned requests — whether they’re navigating workplace dynamics, boardroom decisions, or conversations at home.

Maria Paz Garcia (she/her) is a financial coach, technology consultant, and public speaker dedicated to helping Women+ reclaim their confidence — in their careers, finances, and voices. With over 8 years of experience in the tech industry, Maria has held roles in data analytics, NLP, and innovation consulting at companies including AWS, Wells Fargo, and Protiviti. She also serves on the Board of ALPFA Charlotte as Director of Data & Insights and supports community initiatives through non-profit board leadership.
A Toastmasters leader, Maria blends practical tools with empowering mindset shifts to help professionals advocate for themselves at work and beyond.
